Due to an unexpected change in our wedding date and location, we were very nervous about finding a place to host our wedding with such short notice. We literally only had 2 months to plan from scratch. BUT, by God's grace, we found the Historic Jasmine Plantation! We set up an appointment with Don and Ashley and fell in love with this gorgeous plantation on the spot. Don and Ashley not only went above and beyond to not only work with our rushed planning, but made the planning process stress-free by offering help with everything including vendors. Our wedding was on January 6th, 2018 and we all can recall that was the weekend of Richmond's historic snow storm and record low temperatures. It was below 0 for most of our wedding weekend, but the staff at the Jasmine made sure our wedding did not suffer due to mother nature! They did EVERYTHING within their power to make our day the most loving, romantic and happy event of our lives. They worked around the clock to remove ice/snow, make our guests comfortable and ensure my husband and I had everything we needed. All in all, we were 1000% satisfied! If you are planning a wedding in the Richmond/Williamsburg area...PLEASE check out this beautiful venue. Whether you are planning a pretty spring/summer wedding or a wedding in the dead of winter like mine...the Jasmine will ensure your day is the best of your lives. Thank you, Jasmine Plantation!!
From the moment we stepped on the property, we fell in love!! The grounds are breathtaking and the house is spectacular! The owners were very accommodating with everything from allowing as many visits as we needed to organize our plans, to making suggestions on our seating chart! We were able to stay in the house the night after our wedding with our bridal party and it really made our wedding night last as long as possible.
After dating for 11 years picking the right venue was huge for us and The Historic Jasmine Plantation could not have hit the mark better! I would highly suggest this venue to anyone looking for an amazing plantation venue!
One word: BEAUTIFUL. This location is gorgeous, every attendant loved the look of the plantation. Terrific backdrop for pictures in daytime AND nighttime! If I couldn't get a hold of the wedding coordinator then Don the owner would respond promptly. We rented out the entire plantation for the weekend so our wedding party and parents were all together that weekend. The rooms were lovely and many were a good size! The bridal suite is huge which was perfect when all the girls were getting ready (bad lighting for make up though). We felt like we owned the place because we barely saw the owners. Which we liked that it didn't feel like a hotel. It is pricey to rent the plantation; however, any wedding venue it pricey and we were willing to pay the price for this location and to stay for the weekend. Additionally you're on you own the day of, so don't expect the wedding coordinator to assist, unless you pay extra. With that being stated, the prices are all upfront I even had a printed out table of the prices broken down so we knew exactly what we were paying for taxes, the rooms, and the location. Another thing to take into consideration.... there is not much around for rehearsal dinner food. We ordered fried chicken from Foodlion and brought in sides because other than food lion or subway you had to travel at least 30 minutes to get to another place to cater. We have a low maintenance crowd so it worked for us! I would recommend this place, it is truly beautiful and the owners make you feel at home and are amicable to work with, just consider the price as it will likely be a large portion of any budget.
My bride and I had our wedding ceremony and reception here on a Sunday in October. It was beautiful and I am so glad the weather permitted for a nice outside wedding. If it had rain, they do provide an area to have the ceremony as well. The inside of the house is really nice and rustic looking as well. We didn't stay overnight, but I imagine it would have been nice too. The home owners were AWESOME! They replied back with information promptly and during the wedding day and anytime we came to visit or set up, they stayed back and provided any assistance we may have needed. The reception area was just as wonderful as the ceremony area. There was a tent in the back that fit well over the 100 guests we had. The price was well under the budget we were looking at. The venue provides a list of caterers you may use, but you are welcome to use whom ever as long as you let them know. When the venue gets dark, their are gorgeous lights set up all around the venue with terrific places to take pictures before and after dark. At the end of the reception, we were allowed to use sparklers for the guest to light our way out which was beautiful as well. I could not have had a better experience here and I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone who is looking around the area for an outside wedding.
The venue is beautiful and everyone loved it. The flowers were just blooming, and the weather was perfect. People had ample places to take beautiful pictures, and eat, and dance, and sit. And the Smiths are he nicest people ever, and put out a delicious breakfast Sunday morning. It was really nice being able to set everything up on Friday, stay the night Friday and Saturday, and leave Sunday morning after a lovely rest.
Historic Jasmine Plantation provided the perfect, intimate setting for our small outdoor wedding (50 people). Wanting to take advantage of Jasmine's beautiful grounds and have an outdoor wedding, we showed up the day of to a rainy and gray day. The generous owners provided us the use of their large backyard tent for no extra charge and we were just thrilled. We were able to quickly set up for our wedding and relax, and everything was more lovely than I had even imagined.
Jasmine was the perfect place for an outdoor fall wedding. It has multiple sites for the ceremony, reception, pictures, and rehearsal dinner. With the bridal party staying there for the wedding, it was perfect for getting ready the day of the wedding. Don and Eileen arewonderful hosts. For the whole weekend, we were able to focus on family and friends. After looking at multiple places in the NoVa area, it was far and away the most affordable and friendly. Thanks, Don and Eileen, for making my daughter's wedding weekend perfect!
Don and Eileen, the innkeepers, were wonderful to work with for the entire year leading up to the "Fall in Love" theme wedding on 10/23/10. The weather was perfect, the venue for the whole weekend was perfect as was the yummy breakfast on Sunday morning for the wedding party. The innkeepers were behind the scene workers, but were always available for whatever help was needed. There have been so many positive comments received by mail, phone, Facebook and email. Everyone enjoyed a lovely afternoon and evening. Most of the compliments were about the joy and love in the air felt by all that attended--for Ashley and Greg in the most festive and beautiful setting. Some have even said that this was the most fun wedding ever, bar none!
I had planned our wedding from Texas and with all of the help that I had received from the Smith family everything had been covered by the time we had arrived in Virginia. The grounds are so beautiful, we were able to get beautiful pictures from just about every angle. The house has so much historic charm. We had rented out the seven suits and with all of our wedding party staying at the plantation lots of wonderful memories were made! Our wedding would not have been such an amazing experience with out the help and hard work from the Smith family! I would not have wanted to work with anyone else for this special occasion!
Don and Eileen were a pleasure to work with. Jasmine was the first and only place we looked for a venue and quickly fell in love. The price is amazing and scenery is perfect. They were quick to respond to all questions and helped us GREATLY along the way.
